Sony's top games have come from third party developers, not from in house.
Sure they have had great games with mascots but not good enough, it has to be your defining game. The closest game Playstation 2 had to a mascot was Grand Theft Auto and that was third party so now it's on XBOX 360.

Don't piss of XBOX 360 fanboys. I do think that the PS3 being $399 this holiday will boost some sales. But it's not gonna suddenly overtake the XBOX 360 either.
